ALDEBARÁN
A POETIC JOURNEY THROUGH THE CONSTELLATION OF TAURUS
Aldebaran is a poetic journey through the constellation of Taurus. A stop motion animation in memory of my father -Francisco Díaz Velázquez- that I made to be screened at the In Memoriam Tribute we made for him at the Machado Hall of the Cajasol Foundation in Seville on November 30, 2016.
It is a project that illustrates a selection of poems from his two published books of poetry; "Mínimas y Coplas" and "Mínimas y Coplas". “Nobody's couplets”. The music is by Eduardo Rodríguez, from the album "Casiopea, music for a ballet of stars".
The origins of the stop motion dating back practically to the beginnings of cinema, consists of simulating the movement of static objects by using successive still images. The movement is constructed by manipulating the objects manually, photographing each change of state and creating a sequence of images with the photos. Aldebaran is the result of a sequence of 3,000 photographs.
